Comprehensive Guide to E-Invoicing, E-Receipt & ERP Integration in Egypt

Comprehensive Guide to E-Invoicing, E-Receipt & ERP Integration in Egypt
Latest Egyptian Tax Authority requirements for ERP integration, electronic receipts, and digital signature compliance.
The E-Invoicing system represents a paradigm shift in Egyptian tax administration... The programmatic integration between Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and the E-Invoicing and E-Receipt platforms of the Egyptian Tax Authority (ETA) is carried out via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to ensure the instant transmission and validation of documents. Prerequisites Before Starting Integration * Electronic Seal or Signature: Obtaining an authorized Electronic Seal certificate for the company from a licensed provider (such as Egypt Trust or Misr El-Makasa). * Platform Registration: Registering on the ETA portal and submitting the core required documents (Commercial Register and Tax Card). * Master Data Alignment within the ERP: Standardizing item codes using either the Egyptian Geometry System (EGS) or Global Standards One (GS1), alongside accurately preparing customer and vendor profiles with their respective tax IDs. Integration Stages and Steps 1 - Connecting to the Testing Environment (Pre-Production): 1 ) Acquiring the credentials (Client ID & Client Secret) for the testing portal from the ETA platform. 2 ) Developing the integration layout so that the ERP system exports invoices in the approved formats (JSON or XML). 2 - Testing and Validation: 1 ) Executing comprehensive test runs to send mock invoices and receipts to ensure the tax system accepts the documents without errors. 3 - Going Live (Production Environment): 1 ) Switching over to the live production URLs and credentials. 2 ) Activating the automated issuance of invoices and receipts directly from the ERP sales cycle upon approving or settling the transaction.
